A Letter From The President
Hello from the American Cruisers of Cleveland Ohio. As the current club President, I felt we should let everyone know we are still around and going strong. We want to reach out to all the car people who enjoy cruising and coming to our shows, for it is your support which makes our show a success.
The year 2020 will always be thought of as a time when we had to deal with a new normal. Most big shows were canceled. Our Metro Show being one of the first big shows of the summer was no exception. This was the first time since 1993 that the show did not go on. This was a bitter disappointment for our club as well as for our charity the 'Metro Burn Unit for Adult Survivors'.
The downside of having a show early in the season is that we will NOT be able to hold our 2021 show either. We were so excited to be having our show in a new area in the south parking lot at the GM plant. GM has been such a great partner in hosting this show. We could not have done it without their help and support for so many years.
We all hope and pray that with the vaccine and its distribution that at some point in 2021 things will be better.
Our club has been around for 30 years, we are a family and we care about others and to help those less fortunate. Our club has gotten smaller over the years but our hearts and enthusiasm are still going strong. Covid-19 has touched us all in some way and last year we lost a good member to the virus. It's very real and not to be taken lightly.
During 2019 and into part of 2020 we had the opportunity to participate in a weekly cruise at Christ The King Church. This was also canceled and they are looking for a new location for a cruise. With any luck we may be a part of a weekly cruise-in 2021 and if we are please come out and support it. We would love to see you there. Our club would also like to get some new members.
We hope that 2022 brings back our show and that all of you supporters will again turn out to make our Metro Show charity a huge success.
My wife and I have been members of the American Cruisers for 27 years and it has been a great organization to be a part of. As a club, we hope to showcase some of our members' cars in the Cruisin' Times Readers Rides section.
Thanks for reading this letter and I hope to see you this year enjoying this great hobby.
Sincerely, David L. Bevington, President
